Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thenayan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, received Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his high-level delegation comprising ministers and businessmen at the SABIC headquarters in Riyadh on April 23 to discuss the possibilities of establishing extended collaboration in various areas of mutual interest. The reception was also attended by Mohamed Al-Mady, SABIC Vice Chairman and CEO, and high-ranking executives of the company.

The visit was part of the delegation’s wider tour of Saudi Arabia to hold high-level talks with the Kingdom’s leadership. Among the portfolios represented in the delegation were Foreign Affairs, Finance, Economy, Science and Higher Education, Strategic Planning, and Information. The delegation also comprised eight Polish journalists.
Prince Saud said, “The visit of the Polish Prime Minister is important in further developing the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Poland, particularly in the light of the rapidly growing trade ties between the two countries. SABIC’s market share in the Polish market and in Central Europe has been growing rapidly especially after SABIC set up an office in Warsaw nearly 10 years ago.”
Speaking about the visit, Al-Mady said, “SABIC recognizes the increasing importance of the Central European market, including Poland. The expansion of our sales and logistics network in Central Europe is an integral part of our strategy to grow globally.
Poland is an important country in Central Europe, and we have the manufacturing resources and marketing capabilities to reach out to customers in that country as well as the entire region.”
SABIC has a significant presence in Central Europe, including two sales offices in the Polish capital of Warsaw and a logistics hub in Kutno, central Poland. The company has been developing long-lasting and meaningful customer relationships in the country through participation in trade exhibitions such as Plastpol.
SABIC’s Lexan Thermoclear sheet has been used to construct the 43,000-square meter, free-hanging roof of the UEFA’s Euro 2012TM Football Championship Stadium in Silesian (Śląski) Chorzów, Poland.
